Maria has been providing interpreting, translations and editing services from English to Spanish and Spanish to English since 1987 and has had the privilege of working with some of the best translators within the state and out. A leader, advocate and teacher in the areas of family support, education and programs that emphasize risk and protective factors for the purpose of prevention with a special emphasis on tailoring services for Latino families in the State of Washington. Maria has a long history in creating successful collaborations that help to identify gaps in services as well as solutions. She has been consulting at the local, state and national level and her work has been recognized in a publication of Family Support America for engaging and empowering Latino Families.

Maria's has acquired special training and expertise by attending the following to name a few: National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), train the trainer seminars by Comprehensive Health Education Foundation, Family Support America Conference, ACE by the Family Policy Council, The Incredible Years by the University of Washington, Washington State Court Interpreter Certification class by Bellevue Community College, CMI Education Institute, Children's Justice Conference, Family Support Institute, Trauma Intervention at Safe Harbor Support Center.

Judith Sawby Language Consultant

Judith has been a free lance interpreter, and the owner of Accurate Spanish Translation, for 3 years. She is a State Certified Medical and Social Interpreter as well as an English>Spanish Translator certified by the State of Washington since 2005. Judith has worked as an in-house translator and interpreter for various companies in the State of Washington and in Mexico since 1992, acting as staff interpreter in all legal matters, She coordinated interpreting services for international organizations throughout Mexico ranging from small-scale business meetings to multi-interpreter conferences.

Judith is a native of Mazatlan, Mexico where she lived for 35 years making her fully aware of the diverse cultures.  Additionally, she also holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Centro Universitario de Mazatlan, and has biliterate work experience in this field.

Connections Consulting has now invited Judith to join their team and she is excited to contribute in the translation of Early Childhood Education and Early Learning designed for the betterment and development of young children.

Sylvia Garza Court Certified Interpreter

Successful and outgoing Sylvia Garza has 20 years experience as an Interpreter and Translator. She has been providing social, medical, and legal interpreting and translating services in the following formats: sight translation, consecutive interpreting, and simultaneous interpreting. She provides services in the Tri-Cities, Yakima and Yakima Valley communities. Sylvia is reliable, flexible and accountable and some of her greatest strengths are that she is accurate, flexible, adaptable and culturally sensitive.
